The national powerlifting championships for male students from universities and higher education institutions across the country commenced today with great enthusiasm at Sports Hall No. 1 of the University of Kurdistan in Sanandaj.

According to the Public Relations Office of University of Kurdistan, Dr. Farzad Parsa, the Vice President for Student Affairs, stated during the opening ceremony: "As the host and organizer of this championship, the University of Kurdistan has diligently undertaken the necessary preparations and planning for over four months to ensure this sporting event is held to the highest standards."
Subsequently, Mr. Mohammad Aghaei, Head of the National University Powerlifting Association and the technical supervisor of the competition, announced the participation of over 27 universities and 100 athletes. "The competitions will be held in two disciplines, powerlifting and bench press, across eight weight categories," he explained. "Each athlete may compete in either discipline, and the schedule is arranged so that four weight classes will compete today and the remaining four tomorrow."
He added, "The award ceremony will be held at the conclusion of each segment."
